Kitchen Trends for 2024
~ Part 1 ~
This is the first of two articles looking at kitchen design trends for 2024. Many of the trends complement one another, with nature and communal space creating a theme. Watch out for the second article next month.
Layers of Light
With kitchens serving multiple purposes, layers of lighting are used for decorative, mood and functional reasons. Discreet counter, kick-board and in-cabinet lights supplement the rooms main lighting which could be quite ornate and statement making.
Functional Islands
More functional kitchen islands, that are much more than just an extra preparation space, but that have smart storage and incorporate seating, perhaps even replacing traditional kitchen or dining tables.
Lower Drawers
Drawers can often be a more convenient storage mechanism than cabinets for items like plates and pans. They can also be easier to organise too.
Beverage Stations
Whether it’s an area dedicated to tea and coffee making or a full on bar for entertaining, beverage stations are on the rise. In full view or perhaps hidden away in a smart storage solution.
Induction Hobs
While gas continues to loose favour, induction hobs are the perfect alternative. They possess speed and control that out classes old style electric hobs and they have lower energy consumption than gas hobs.
